Margaret M. (Barlick) Olsavsky

Olsavsky-Margaret M. (Barlick), 96, Nanty Glo, passed away June 18, 2021, at home. She was born Nov. 1, 1924 in Oil City (Washington Twp.), daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Patrick) Barlick. Preceded in death by husband Joseph M. Olsavsky, infant daughter, son Joseph F. Olsavsky, brothers Stephen, Joseph, Edward, Ambrose, John, and Paul. Sisters Ann, Pauline Podzerzvinski and Eleanor “Ida” Dickman. Margaret is survived by children Michael (Maria) Olsavsky, Lawrence (Martha) Olsavsky, Bernadette (Thom) Palko, Francis, Anthony (Georgina), Celeste, Andrea (Riccardo) Olivieri, Daniel (Melodye), Gregory (Lucy), and Kevin (Yvette). Daughter-in-law Judy Olsavsky. 29 Grandchildren Jason, Michele, Teresa, Claudia, Rob, Christina, Colette, Jesse, Ian, Jessica, Rebekah, Stefan, Milan, Renee, Brad, Doug, Ryan, Heather, Scott, Rick, Maria Luisa, Antonio, Amanda, Brent, Catie, Nicole, Joe, Miranda, and Kristi. 25 Great grandchildren. Sister of Clara Szuch, Patricia Lukosavich, and Michael (Linda) Barlick. Sister-in-law Sister Agnes Scott and brother-in-law William Scott, and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, where she was active with the Altar Rosary Society, serving as a past president and ran the church funeral dinners for many years. She was a lifelong Democrat, member of the First Catholic Slovak Union and a previous Cub Scout Den Mother. Retired from St. Mary’s Church and School. She enjoyed the hills of Pennsylvania, bingo, casinos, ballgames, and traveling anywhere, but most of all, she loved and enjoyed her family, especially the many little ones. Visitation will be held Thursday at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo from 2-4 and 6-8, where Liturgical Wake Services will be held. Funeral Mass will be Friday, 10AM at St. Mary’s Church, Fr. Leonard Voytek, the Celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family requests that mask be worn during the visitation and funeral mass.
