Ronald Dean Brown

Ronald Dean Brown, 69, Nanty Glo, died Dec. 26, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 31, 1945, son of the late Kenneth and Viola (Greene) Brown. Preceded in death by sister, Donna, and brother, Kenneth. Surviving are wife of 44 years, Christa Brown, Nanty Glo; children, Sheila (Matt) Fitzpatrick, Middletown; Ron (Darla) Brown, Nanty Glo; and Maleri (Chris) Sterner, Johnstown; grandchildren, Braydon, Brianna, Delaney and Billy; brother, Robert (Barbara) Brown, Yorktown, Va.; special friend, Brad (Pam) Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired chief of police for Nanty Glo, where he served for 23 years, and court security officer for the U.S. Marshals Service. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. Friends were received at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where funeral service was held, the Rev. Geno Bartoletti. Interment, Belsano United Methodist Cemetery. Veterans service was conducted by local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnstown Kidney Center or the American Heart Association.
