Richard William George, Sr.

George, Sr.-Richard William, 83, Vintondale, passed away Dec. 15, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 13, 1940 in Buffington Twp. Son of the late Herman and Catherine (Hollenbough) George. Preceded in death by sister Alice Sark and son-in-law Ken Mullen. Richard is survived by wife Emmogene “Lucky Bracken”, Children Cindy Mullen, Richard (Patty) George, Jr., Ida Jean (Bill) Saylor, John (Denice) George, and Dwayne (Carrie) George. 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and best little buddy Frankie Fertick. Brother of James (Mildred) George, Sr., Arthur (Carol) George, Caroline (Homer) Michaels, Pearle Stallman, and Earl George. He retired from Dietrich Industries after 46 years. Life member and officer of the Vintondale Fireman’s Club and Vintondale VFW and was a member of several other area clubs. Richard loved his family. He was an avid hunter and loved to tinker on small projects. Visitation will be Monday at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo from 2PM until the time of funeral services at 6PM, Pastor Josh Burbank, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
