Leona (Firl) Beckett

Leona (Firl) Beckett, 90, Mundys Corner, died Sept. 4, 2012, at Cambria Care Center. Born Dec. 27, 1921, in Meyersdale, daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Opal) Firl. Survived by husband, Philip R. Beckett, Mundys Corner; children, Elizabeth (Gary) Leventry, Severn, Md.; Susan R. (James F.) Yeager, St. Boniface; Thomas Philip (Zoyla Crew) Beckett, Casa Grande, Ariz.; and Daniel Lee (Jacquelyn Meredith), Peoria, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jamie Lee Leventry, Jill Ann Overton, James Philip Yeager, Claire Beckett, Ashley Fritts, Meredith Pierre, Samantha Sidoti and Kyle Beckett; great-grandchild, Aaidan Sidoti; sister, Ruth (Paul) Marteney, Meyersdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Pike Brethren Church, Mundys Corner, and WMC, and she taught Sunday school. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Joe Couch, officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown
