Ray-John “Jack” “Redeye", 88, Nanty Glo, passed away October 7, 2019 at his home. He was born October 17, 1930. Son of the late William and Christina ( Barr) Ray. Preceded in death by his wife Viola Ray, son Jeff, son-in-law Jimmy McAndrew. Brothers William and Mel. Sisters Phyllis Lekwa and Ruth Serluco. Jack is survived by his children John (Brenda) Ray, North Carolina; Edward (Joni) Ray, Maryland Delores (Albert) Stanton, Seward; Michael (Sharon) Boyd, Saylorsburg; Michelle (David) Bassaro, Tina McAndrew, New Kensington; Tracy (Bob) McEvoy, Nanty Glo; Daughter-in-law Peggy Ray Nanty Glo. 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. He was the brother of Robert (Mary) Ray, Nanty Glo and Betty Sanderson, NJ. Jack was a member of the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Retired coal miner from Bethlem Mines 31 and 33. Former member of the Shriners and Masons. Redeye would like to thank all the friends he made along the way. Memorial service will be held on Thursday 11 AM, at the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church.
