James L. Sheesley

James L. Sheesley, 77, Vintondale, died Oct. 17, 2015, at Windber Hospice. Born Oct. 9, 1938, in Mahaffey, son of the late Les and Dorothy (Dotson) Sheesley. Preceded in death by wife, Mary; son, James; and brother, Gary. Survived by children, Perry W. (Elena), Nanty Glo; Ian (Andrea), Vintondale; and Dawn Marie, Vintondale, and grandchildren, Matthew and Shaelynn. Brother of Barbara Kasecky, Nanty Glo; Patricia (Ronald) Plucinski, Ohio; Chet (Grace) Sheesley, Vintondale; Robert (Karan) Sheesley, Vintondale; Cheryl (Tom) Kuhar, Vintondale; and Perry (Patricia) Sheesley, Twin Rocks. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of First Baptist Church, Vintondale. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Active member of Vintondale VFW Post 5211. James was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed his time fishing with Les and Mark. At James' request, there will be no viewing. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Vintondale, the Rev. Richard Stock. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. Veterans service will be held at First Baptist Church, Vintondale, by the local veterans organizations. Arrangements by Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo.
