Helen Josephine (Wassick) Wixner

Wixner- Helen Josephine, 97, a life well lived, of Twin Rocks, passed away peaceful at home, Oct. 23, 2019. She was born March 14, 1922 in Lucernmines, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Casper) Wassick. Preceded in death by husband Thomas Wixner, son Thomas Wixner, brother Stanley Wassick, sisters Violet Jurban and Martha Wassick. Helen is survived by her children Richard Wixner, Wisconsin; Harry (Jeanne) Wixner, New Hampshire; David (Marie) Wixner, New York; Bob (Fausta) Wixner, Texas; Melanie Wixner, Pennsylvania. Grandsons Benjamin Wixner and Aaron Wixner, both of New York. Brother John “Jack” (Shirley) Wassick, Michigan. Helen was a kind and loving woman who loved her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, walking on the Ghost Town Trail, herbal medicine, reading, art, and music. The family would like to thank Judy and Sue from Conemaugh Hospice, for the care they gave to Helen. There will be no services. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
