Ethel Watson (Rager)

Ethel (Rager) Watson, 97, Nanty Glo, passed away on November 17, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 2, 1927, in Seward. Daughter of the late Howard and Dora Jane (Ambrose) Rager and stepmother Matilda Goughnour. 

Preceded in death by husband John Watson, grandson Harry Ondriezek, and numerous brothers and sisters. 

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ethel is survived by children John (Diane) Watson, Cathy Watson, and Joyce (Rick) Bartoletti, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. 

She was one of the founding members of the Nanty Glo Church of the Nazarene, where she was very active. Ethel also loved to cook and crochet. 

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Nanty Glo. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 AM, with Pastor Bruce DiMaria officiating. Interment will follow in Belsano United Brethren Cemetery.
