Mervine-Edna (Fyock), 80, Homer City, passed away June 10, 2024 at home, after a short illness She was born Oct. 10, 1943 in Strongstown. Daughter of the late William Spear and Beatrice (Bradley) Fyock. Preceded in death by husband of 56 years Ronald Mervine, grandson Walter Alva Cox, III, brothers Robert and Calvin Cresswell, William, Donald, Grant, and Henry Fyock, sisters Virgina Martin, Delores McCloskey, and Minnie Salva. Son-in-law Walter Alva Cox, II. Edna is survived by children Barbara Cox, Ronald Mervine, Jr., Arthur (Diana) Mervine, Virginia Mervine, and Brenda (Dennis) Binder. 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Sister of Anna Kochik, and Ronald (Mary)Fyock, numerous nieces and nephews, and in-laws Catherine (Frank) Spotts, Sandy Frederick, Rosemary (George) Roles, Patty Paul, Robin Mervine. Edna worked very hard to raise her family and was a caregiver for her extended family. She enjoyed shopping and going out to dinner. She had an adventurous spirit and went on many trips throughout her life. She loved John Wayne, Elvis Presley, and her cat EJ. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8PM at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Nanty Glo, where funeral services will be 10 AM, Friday. Interment to follow in Pineland Cemetery, Strongstown, afterwards all will be invited to the Blue Goose Sportsman’s Club for a luncheon.
