Charles E. Block

Charles E. Block Sr., 75 of Blacklick Township died Friday, May 17 at his late residence. He was the son of the late Henry S. and Elizabeth M. (Ankney) Block and was born December 1, 1937 in Johnstown, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Bridget Gustkey; brother, Myles Block and sister, Venetta Block. He is survived by his wife Marion (Rutter); six children, Marshia (Joel) Gustkey of South Fork; Pamela Crawford of Ebensburg; Mary (David) Mastrine of Colver; Charles Block Jr. of Colver; Peggy Block at home and Alberta (Steve) Harriger of Vintondale; 18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great-grandchild due in August. He is also survived his sister, Kay and five brothers, Henry, Clyde, Joseph, Martin and Francis Block and his buddy Fritz. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel and also was a retired Army Veteran. Friends will be received Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Clayton Harriger, officiating. Interment to follow in the John Edwards Cemetery, Belsano.
